Lee Johnson III

Lee Johnson III

Along with his UA degrees, Lee Johnson III’s passion for educating young children has taken him from teaching music to proposing early childhood education policies at the national level. This month Johnson receives his doctorate in health education and promotion—his third degree from UA.

Jacob Caruso

Jacob Caruso

Jacob Caruso joined the Army ROTC and upon graduating from UAH the next year with a degree in nursing, he was commissioned into the Army as a 2nd lieutenant. In 2011, he was deployed to a combat zone in Afghanistan where he served at a Combat Support Hospital treating critically injured service members.

Austin Pearson

When Austin Pearson came to The University of Alabama, he didn’t speak a word of German. Three years later, he was sitting in conference rooms at Mercedes’ headquarters in Germany, participating in meetings spoken in German about the company’s newest car models.

Leigh Mayberry

Leigh Mayberry

From being the first in her family to go to college, to spending years traveling to the far ends of the world serving those in need, Leigh Mayberry has lived a life full of ambition and adventure.
